1. Visa
EU, EEA and SC citizens do not need a visa to study in Romania. NON-EU citizens need a study visa, type D, issued by the Romanian Embassy in their country of origin. The visa is issued on the basis of the Letter of Acceptance issued by DGRIAE, within the Romanian Ministry of Education. The Directorate General Secretariat - International Students will take the necessary steps to obtain the letter of acceptance to study. In order to obtain the type D study visa, the full tuition fee for the first year of study must be paid. Once arrived in Romania, international students will make the necessary steps to obtain the residence permit.
2. Residence permit
After entering Romania you must obtain a residence permit. It certifies your right to stay in Romania and you can get it from the territorial units of the General Inspectorate for Immigration in the county where you live. To obtain a residence permit you have to submit personally a number of documents at least 30 days before the expiry of the right to stay granted by the visa.
In order to obtain a residence permit you need to present the following documents:
- Application form;
- Original and copy of border crossing document (passport, travel document, etc.);
- Letter of acceptance;
- Certificate issued by the university proving that you are enrolled to studies at a state or private educational institution, accredited or provisionally authorised by law, full time attendance, including participation in doctoral courses, on the basis of the approval of the relevant ministry;
- Proof of means of subsistence, amounting to at least the minimum gross basic wage per country guaranteed for at least 6 months;
- Proof of legal ownership of the living space (original and copy);
- Medical certificate;
- Fees;

3. Accommodation

4. Enrolment
Enrollment for candidates admitted following the admissions exam is completed by signing the student contract and paying the tuition fee, as follows:
- Romanian citizens and citizens of the EU, EEA, and EEC—will pay 50% of the tuition fee for the current academic year within 3 days of the publication of the final results;
- Non-EU citizens - must pay the full tuition fee for the current academic year within 3 days of the of the publication of the final results.
Once in Romania, the admitted candidates are required to submit their original academic transcripts to the faculties where they have been accepted.
